AppPresser Requirements

AppPresser is an iOS and Android application builder that specializes in integrating with your WordPress website. The purpose of this document is to help all new AppPresser clients understand what is required to starting with our service.

WordPress

To get started making your very own application using the AppPresser platform, you will need a WordPress website already installed on a web hosting service provider. There are hosting requirements for the latest version of WordPress and those can be found here: https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/.

Your WordPress website can still be a work in the making. You do not need to finish or fully build your WordPress website before. In some cases, building your Website and Application together can be very useful. The purpose is to have an installation of WordPress you can use to install our Plugins and Theme that are necessary to connecting your website to our MyAppPresser.com Dashboard.

If you need help getting set up with a WordPress website and hosting, please reach out to us. AppPresser can provide hosting services in order to install or set up a WordPress installation. We do help many customers and clients build their Applications form the ground up. In some cases we can recommend a web hosting service provider we know to be reliable, offer great service and works well with our services provided. Please reach out to AppPresser Support if you need help finding a reliable web hosting provided with all of the recommended tools.

WordPress API

Once you have WordPress installed on a web hosting service provider, it's important to know that AppPresser connects to your WordPress installation by communicating through the WordPress API.

An application programming interface (API) is a program that enables two applications to communicate with one another. It serves as an intermediary between two pieces of software, facilitating a seamless collaboration. This allows data from your website to talk to our website.

To check if your WordPress website has the WordPress API readily available, simply add /wp-json/ after your top level domain extension. For example: apppresser.com/wp-json.

Click on the link above and you'll see our very own WordPress website does have the API available. You can see the VERY LONG response shown on screen. If you see something that says ERROR, or 404 - you may have a plugin conflict.

Some security plugins, tools, or security features on your web hosting service provider may block the communication between your WordPress website and our platform. You can use the following article to help resolve any issues: https://docs.apppresser.com/article/706-api-apppresser-information
